CES Accreditations

ISO 9001:2015

From inception, we realised the need to ensure quality was at the forefront of our business therefore we took steps to become accredited with the Quality Management standard BS EN ISO 9001:2015. As all the Directors had previous experience working to this recognised standard, we set about drafting our own specific Quality Manual. Once this was fine-tuned and representative of our activities within the lift industry, while also adhering to BS requirements, we then instructed BSi to carry out their audit. This went extremely well and we were presented with our certificate number and confirmation of our compliance with the standard. This is a great way of showing existing and prospective clients our commitment to meeting only the highest of standards. It has also allowed our business to expand and grow.

ISO 14001 - 2015

CES Ltd hold ISO 14001 - 2015, Certificate number EMS 612543. This shows our business as environmentally responsible, winning us recognition and new business opportunities. It helps us demonstrate how committed we are to reducing our environmental impacts and to meet customers' expectations of sustainability. We believe reducing our environmental impacts will help all involved. Greatly improved waste management, better recycling, energy monitoring and providing alternative low voltage technology to name but a few will save the client and CES money, while making a positive contribution to reducing our carbon footprint. We also believe this will increase client satisfaction and staff commitment to continual improvement.

ISO 18001

We have always had an extremely robust Health and Safety system in place at CES Ltd. From the day we commenced trading we saw the importance of ensuring people who come to work can expect; to work in the safest environment possible. Our industry is full of potential hazards and if not managed properly, the results can be catastrophic.

We have been accredited contractors with SSiP schemes such as CHAS, safecontractor and Altrius for over five years but acknowledged the need to support these with a recognised British Standard OHSAS 18001:2007. We see the following benefits from OHSAS 18001:

• Improved corporate image and credibility among customers, regulators, prospective clients and the public.
• Adoption of best practice in relation to risk management.
• Ensuring health and well-being of customers, the public, employees and sub-contractors.
• Ensuring legislative awareness and compliance.
• Reducing accident and incident rates by reducing and eliminating wherever possible workplace hazards.
• Improving the incident investigation process.
• Increasing employee motivation through the provision of a safer workplace and participation process through continued training.

CHAS
CHAS, which is an acronym for The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, was an accreditation we were keen to gain. Participating in the CHAS scheme helps both suppliers and buyers. Suppliers can show compliance with important parts of health and safety law (the core criteria described in the CDM regulations). On achieving compliance as a supplier CES Ltd is approved to work for all of CHAS' buyers. It also allows us to show prospective buyers our ongoing commitment to strict Health & Safety standards.

 

 

Constructionline
Demonstrating our commitment to be as open and transparent to clients has always been important to us. This is why we began the rigorous and demanding process of becoming Approved Members of Constructionline. With this accreditation it enables clients to be kept up to date in real time by Constructionline, see all standard pre-qualification data covering; company details, financials, health & safety, equalities and environmental information. Constructionline is endorsed by the Office of Government Commerce, the Welsh Assembly, the Northern Ireland Executive and the Scottish Executive.

 

 

Exor
Exor delivers business opportunities and procurement efficiencies by bringing together suppliers and buyers. Their aim is to develop the relationships in the supply chain to reduce inefficiency, cost and risk. For the past 14 years Exor has worked with companies, from small to large, to ensure they are compliant and help them win business. Exor enables us to be known and visible to public and private sector organisations boosting our prospective client base.

 

 

 

 

LEIA
Along with our determination to achieve Quality Standard ISO 9001:2008 status was our desire to become members of our trade association, The Lift and Escalator Industry Association, known by its acronym, LEIA. We were delighted when this was achieved in June 2011. LEIA is the advisory body for the lift and escalator industry and was formed in 1997 by the merging of two long standing associations with a history dating back to 1932. With a membership covering some 95% of the lift and escalator industry, LEIA represents a single voice for the sector. Membership also brings benefits to prospective clients as you can expect a consistent high level of service.

 

 

Altius
We have recently become accredited contractors with Altius to Assured Vendor and CDM Vendor status. Here is some information taken for the Altius home page explaining what this accreditation means to you, our customers. If you knew that all of your vendors met all of your requirements all of the time, we think that would help you to rest easy. No more worrying about whether the vendors you're using are properly insured or have all the right health & safety processes. Just more time to do your job, safe in the knowledge that Altius has got you covered. We're pretty confident that our core assessment will cover most of what you need, from all the key requirements of health & safety legislation to the necessary levels of insurance. Then there's the other information we already gather, which you can use to build additional requirements. Finally, we'll add on anything else you need. If you want us to check specifics of insurance coverage, we'll do it; if you need your vendors to have some specific training, we'll check that too. It's your assessment, we just look after it for you.

 

 

safecontractor
We were asked by an existing client to become safecontractor accredited as they were changing the way they appointed and vetted their contractors. We were only too happy to do this as it ensured we continued to show we are serious about investing in any process which would improve the service we offer existing and potential customers. The following is taken from the safecontractor website which explains its origins and ongoing development. safecontractor was initially developed as a bespoke project for a Property Management client who wished to outsource the annual vetting of contractors on its approved list. Interest shown by other similar clients identified the potential for a standardised system that could be offered to the whole of the company's client base. In 1999 SupplyLine was born. After further development the product was expanded to provide web based access to its clients and was re-branded as safecontractor in 2003. Steady growth and the adoption of the system by some major brand names such as Kellogg, Debenhams Retail Plc, Home Retail Group and General Motors UK, saw entry into new client markets and further growth in contractor members.
